Dr. Avra Frucht, VMD
Dr. Avra Frucht, VMD, is a native New Yorker. She attended Barnard College and graduated in 1992 with honors. She decided to pursue her passion for animals and science and attended the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. She received her doctoral degree with honors in 1999.
Dr. Frucht went on to complete an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at the Animal Medical Center in Manhattan. After four years of general practice, Dr. Frucht decided to raise the standard of care by providing a more compassionate and personal service for her patients and their guardians. In 2004, Dr. Frucht established Visiting Vet of New York, which has grown into an established veterinary house call practice providing quality care for dogs and cats in the comfort of their own homes.
Dr. Frucht is a sports enthusiast; she plays soccer regularly and also participates in many running and obstacle racing events. She volunteers with A Fair Shake for Youth, a non-profit organization that uses the power of dogs to help underserved youth build empathy, self-esteem and reduce bullying.
